Jake who runs the whole thing is awesome and really knowledgeable. We took the Batavia route and he texted us the route with fun stops such as a cave and an eagles’ nest. This is a great route if you want to see some cute wildlife such as beavers, blue herons, waterfowl and ducks. Will absolutely be back!Posted on Cb CoopTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Used unguided shuttle service. Shuttle driver had plenty of helpful information. Batavia to take out with the dam portage. Water level was low but a good practice trip.Posted on Stefanie WulfTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The most down to earth host/owner. Imagine a host that just makes your experience comfortable . He offered sandwich bags for your phone, offered sunscreen, offered to take pictures of your group and gave awesome recommendations for local food. He provided a thorough map for your trip with knowledge of the entire route. I highly recommend the 2 hour route and take your time. It’s gorgeous! Everything about this small business is top tier . He provides CLEAN, top quality life jackets and really good kayaks. This man did not skimp out on any detail. I cannot recommend booking here enough!Posted on annie pTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing time kayaking! It was such a fun and memorable experience. Everything was well organized and easy to follow. The owner was incredibly friendly and explained everything clearly, which made me feel comfortable and safe. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great outdoor adventure!Posted on John SchreiberTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I went for our first Kayak lesson and it was great! The equipment was solid and Colin, the instructor, is clearly passionate about what he does. Colin explained everything we were going to do well, and then got us on the water to practice. He was very patient, and took the time to help us fine tune the skills he taught us. I highly recommend Howling Wolfe and my wife and I will be returning customers!Posted on Corey OgletreeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What an incredible experience! My partner surprised me with a kayak tour down the river, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my visit to Batavia. The owner was so friendly and extremely courteous — truly made us feel welcomed right from the start. We lucked out with perfect weather: 75 degrees and not a cloud in sight! The long tour was absolutely worth it — 10000% recommend going for the extended route. We saw so much wildlife along the way, and even had fish jumping up near (and almost into) our kayaks! The peaceful current made it super relaxing, and it was the perfect way to take in the natural beauty of the area. Our guide was fantastic — super knowledgeable and passionate, having lived just down the street for most of their life. This was only my third visit to this charming little city, but it definitely won’t be my last. Between the amazing outdoor experiences and all the great local shops, eateries, and breweries, Batavia has a lot to offer. If this company offers other tours, I’d sign up in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend their services!Posted on Glenn PuzioTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My family and I did the North Aurora Self Guided Rental including two tandem kayaks, life jackets (little ones for the kids), and paddles. We were given very clear instructions by Collin who offered to take pictures of us, drive us to the start from our parking spot, carried or kayaks to and from the river and made sure we felt informed and ready to be on the river. You could tell he truly loves what he does and the great outdoors!Posted on Cristine MabritoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. On August 9, 2025, my wife and I took the Aurora guided kayak to tour to celebrate her birthday. We had only kayak once by ourselves and struggled a little bit so we were hoping this would make it a little easier and give us some tips. And we were beyond elated… They gave us a little lesson after some safety tips and then we took a tour from Batavia down to North Aurora and we did really well. Our guides were Colin and David. Colin was super patient with us and David gave us hints as well. We didn’t get stock, we didn’t really struggle, and when we asked for some pointers, they told us what to do and it was so clear and easy we were able to maneuver the entire ride without their hands on assistance, but more of their knowledge and confidence. We even got donuts at the stop Frahm really great restaurant bakery that I love in Aurora. We will definitely be back and I think it was worth the cost. I felt I gained confidence in my kayaking And we had a really great time. I was a little nervous at first because I wasn’t sure who else would be on the tour with us and with their skill level was. There was people from all different kinds of skills and we’re a little bit older. (I am 56, she is 63 )… and again, we did really well and were able to keep up without any problems. I would give them a try because I know I’m gonna go back and do it again.Posted on Simply BubblyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Service was amazing and the two men who work to help you kayak were genuinely one of the nicest people I have came across. Kayaking here was so relaxing and fun. It is super family friendly and something to get your mind off of things. I truly thank the man who taught us how to kayak and was making it fun!
